You need to go to your LBS and try for fit. Clothing sizes are hit and miss, one manufacturers idea of large is anothers medium.

I tend to find most cycling stuff cut for a slim build, I normally buy a size bigger to get a comfortable (ie not sprayed on) fit.

You will need to try on, or read any reviews if buying online. The Italian makes are small, so as others have said you will need to go at least 1 size up. I'm a small, but my Nalini jerseys are medium and they are still very tight fitting!

Factor in a future weight loss too.

What's a snug fitting now might not be in a few months, so for now defo go one size (or more) up but you may need a new jersey\s unless you like the flapping flying squirrel look ! :D

I'm only 16, i dont see any future weight loss as there is no weight to be lost
    I think i'll go for a medium

i'm a large in normal clothes so was absolutely gutted to find the only jerseys that fitted were XXL!!! I'm pretty sure the world of cycling clothing is more styled for the slender gentleman due to the fitness element of the hobby/sport but to size down 2 sizes is a bit much - especially for my ego. And if the italian clothes are even more slender can someone point me in the direction of the american manufacturers, i might be a medium there

I'm 23 with a 37inch chest, and i get small jerseys, but large bibshorts.. :/

I much prefer a tighter top to a loose one. Much easier to regulate body temperature, and easier to keep speed.

In that case, plan for weight gain. It's coming!

I'm a medium in pretty much everything but I have to get L shorts and XL jerseys when buying Castelli.
