36 billion pedal revolutions... 58 gazillion heartbeats... the 67th Tour de Pologne, in association with Skandia and presented by Czesław Lang... after that silly warm-up race last month, the main event is finally here!

Begins Sunday. 7 stages, no time trials. Looks like a mixed bag in terms of the route. Some stages are extremely long, others are extremely short. Most have hills. Details here:

Alessandro Ballan is back to defend his title. Start list:

What a bland startlist. It's hard to pick anyone out of that. I almost went for Kennaugh.

    Gc: Fred Kessiakoff

    2 Greipel
    3 Vasil Kiryienka
    4 Ben Swift

    Difficult GC to predict

I'm expecting something from Bauke Mollema, Tiago Machado and Marco Marcato

Gona go for Michael Albasini please, he's got a track record.

It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

I can actually see a haul of 0 points from that lot - but it's pretty hard to guess anything when most of these guys have been riding races no bigger than the GP Ordizia or somesuch this summer...
