Apologies if this has already been mooted. Just wondering if it might be amusing to organise an SCR Cycle Hire ride, just a quick whizz round starting/finishing at a pub somewhere.

Clearly we'd need to start/finish somewhere with secure cycle parking... and near a good stretch of fast road...

Ugh, must we constantly ride laps of places?

Why not ride from point A to point B, make it about a 29 minute ride, have some beers then ride back to our bikes?

EDIT: we could meet @ the morpeth, chain our bikes to the railings, grab bikes from the station right on Vauxhall Bridge, and zoom east to another pub. Then do the same in reverse.

Indeed, isn't this kind of the point what with all the docking stations?

Am I the only person round here who hasn't actually seen a Boris Bike? I've seen a few empty racks but no actual bikes....

Having said that, if 10 or so people jump on Boris Bikes and cycle to a docking station 28 minutes away, there had better be free docks for 10 or so bikes otherwise some people may end up paying...
