So I'm umming and ahhing about whether to get a 3rd bike on the cycle to work scheme: the Boardman CX at £999 looks a lovely bike.

I'm chatting to a colleague at work about this, and he agreed it might not be a bad idea.

Then he said...

he said...

<breathe>

He said "That's a good idea, you can have a new bike and sell the old one"

I had to leave the room for a while, it was all too much.....

    Doe he have kids?

Ask him if he'd have sold the first one when it's little sibling came along?

Although comparing bikes to offspring may be going a little bit too far.

Yeah, bikes are way more important. I can't wait for my kids to leave home, I'd be gutted if my bike left.

Why would he say such a thing?

You should do something to cheer yourself up.

Maybe buy a new bike??? That'd work.
  • Some people are just unfeeling monsters. You need to buy yourself another bike to repair the harm to your feelings.

Ask Her Indoors if she sells a pair of shoes before she buys new high heels? There we are then. :)

There are some people out there with no grasp of cardinal cycling mathematics.

My wife for example cannot grasp that n+1 is vital to the natural order of things and is essential for the sun to rise tomorrow and avoid a pestilence of biblical proportion being rained down from above.

neither has she got the simple equation: shed no longer has enough room for bikes = buy more shed,

she holds the heretical notion that not enough room in shed = sell bike/s

Put her indoors on the payroll and get her to claim for C2W? :P

Be careful you don't run into the supplemental s-1 limit. (s=no. of bikes for separation/divorce).

Not been very well lately but on the mend. So much so that I took a trip to Decathlon today (didn't like the looks of the Btwin bikes much) but the Boardman bikes seem great. BTW when did the price rise take place? I had agreed with Mrs SG, that is what I claim anyway, that a Carbon Team would suit but now they are £200 dearer

Am I perverted enough for a crosser? or should I give up the carbon dream but retain my innocence? There is still plenty of room in the garage for another bike, All Mrs SG has to do is leave her car outside.
