Classifieds, doing deals on threads.

Isn't it about time that the veil of secrecy is lifted?
Would it not be better for offers to be made, rejected, accepted on thread?
And only then move onto the PM system for completion?

There's nothing to stop people doing that. It's personal preference for the buyers/sellers if they wish to make the deal on the forum or by PM.
Even if we were to make a rule (I see no point to it), it would be entirely unenforceable. We have no idea what people are sending each other by PM.0 -
It allows people to see what's going on rather than "is the bike sold," etc. Just seems to be a good way of housekeeping rather than being enforceable.
I don't like saying it but, "it's what other classifieds do," in so many places! My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

It wouldn't work.
I still can't get over the fact that people can't follow the already basic rules we've got.
Like whyamihere says, your suggestion would be impossible to police - even though i do see its partial merits.0 -
It wouldn't work? Why does it work just about everywhere else?My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)
