hi all,

basically i got a boardman sport which had to be returned due to frame build quality issues...then after the awful service i got from halfords and boardman...i decided to just get a refund and look at other options....with a strict budget of £550

atm i'm considering the following:

KHS ALITE 2000 - £549
FOCUS FATBOY - £552
CUBE ANALOG - £508

i'd be grateful for anyones input on these bikes, or anything i may have missed....(nothing from halfords!! lol)

just for info, i'm no pro, but like to push the bike a bit, and am also a big lad so need a durable sturdy outfit....

thanks in advance!!

Are these from local shops or web dealers? If the latter, then you can expect a worse expereicene than Halfords should issues arise, as you have to post it to send it back. You will have no services - can you service it yourself?

Be careful in what you do.
  • hi mate, thanks for the reply...

i can service it myself, plus a good little shop locally for services (would buy from them but they only sell £1k+ bikes)

the cube and fatboy i can get elsewhere locally but the KHS is direct from them online....

If you are confident on sizing and servicing, the KHS is a good buy. Way better than quite frankly awful Cube. Focus is Ok.

    What Sonic said.

Also, I think you're out of luck with the KHS:
Alite 2000/3000 all sold out (med demo 2000 £475), XC604 and XCT555 all sold out, XCT535 2 left. 2011 bikes arriving October

+ potato, I have two focus bikes and they have been great, but this year's spec is less inspiring to be honest

have you tried looking at pauls cycles who do have last years spec bikes at good prices
