...people's estimated weight of their bikes in the "Your Bikes" section...
Or am I missing somthing here - basically weigh your bike and reduce that figure by at least 1lb, possibly 2lb?
Yes, I need to get a life.
Yes, I'm being very petty.

A lot of people weigh them on the bathroom scales, which probably have an error margin of about 2 lbs
Or more if they're just weighing the bike and not using the "You + bike - you" approach.
Mine are weighed with highly dubious hong kong fishing scales but they're reasonably accurate.Uncompromising extremist0 -

That's how I weigh my luggage when I go away. I tried using a hand held one with my snowboard/ski bag one time last winter and broke it oops!
I have never weighed my bike becasue....I don't care how much it weighs as long as it
a)doesn't kill me to cary it

There is at least 500g of mud on my bike0

Mine weighs somewhere between 20 and 30lbs.0
-
My bikes are old and cheap
Thus weight is of no relevance to me.
'Heavier than yours' is probably the ideal answer to how much my bike weighs.0 -

my bike has mass, which is greatly increased by my big self sitting on it, fully clothed with a camelbak full of junk.
I expect if I took a huge steaming dump, had a long, hot p**s and a quick sherman before every ride the actual weight difference between the inbred and a carbon merida or scott would be negligable.Visit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.
Who are you calling inbred?0 -
Especially a sherman. Or a Jodrell.0

Mine weighs as much as a fairly large dog.0

Meh, I have no objection to people purchasing 'heavy' components, if it's for DH, AM, FR etc etc. However if these are for XC purposes, then erm, you should be looking at something at least half that weight...My KCNC ones weigh 118g0 -
Protein overkill hehe. And vodka... Though if you had remembered to defrost the first one haha!
Someone was selling the same Orange bars in the classifieds for 17 quid!0 -

That's true. So what width are you getting? Many say wider feels better, but diameter should be considered too.0
