I wouldnt want to have to do anything important on tramadol.

I tried to complete an expenses claim form for a couple of items whilst on it after an operation.

The form was rejected for 5 seperate reasons, all of which were my errors.

It was gooood sh*t as co-codomal didn't seem to do anything for the pain in my case, but did leave me spaced out of my box.

I had an important job interview a couple of days after I was released from hospital, I was ripped to the t*ts on tramadol and got the job! I would probably have been far too nervous otherwise.

I can see that, major confidence without the drunk feeling that booze gives me. And it did take the edge off the daytime TV I had to watch.

No wonder there are so many addicts - only way to cope with Jeremy Kyle is get yourself shitfaced.

Yeah, Tony was in trouble for a while, out out now.
Luckily, I was in London when it all blew up, so I wasn't involved, thank God!

Took a couple of Trams last night, due to hip ache, and they gave me that floaty feeling, drowsy, but not sleepy.

Weird thing was, one of my kids bought me a nice MP3 players, so I put it on Play All, forgetting there are some repeat tracks.
I heard 5 replays of Jean Michel Jarres "Equinox", before realising it!!!

    Lasted til abou 11am today.
    Non tonight, just tired naturally.

I've been on tramadol & diclofenac for the last week and a half and yes i'm finding it very hard not to drool and stare at the walls, mostly helps with the pain but alas useless for work

Why do you think we had "Drinking Hours" as apparently, before WW One, you could drink all day. But, being pissed in an ammunitions factory, isn't, well, shall we say, Good?!

Then some tossers decided we Don't need drinking hours again, and well, there's a huge reversal now from Social Workers, Councils and the Police.

ALL DAY DRINKING, DOESN'T stop binge, pre-loading at home and violence associated with alcohol. But, because of the Duty the Govt get, this is why it's tolerated.

Mrs works in hospital, and sees more problems with Alcohol and Smoking than any other sort of controlled or social drugs. Prob more NHS spending goes on these than any others.

I have just come off Tramadol completely (day 3) after 12 weeks on it after pretty major spinal surgery, going down to 50mg a day in the end. It worked for me, and I had fewer problems with my guts than I get with codeine, but I don't like relying on anything long term so wanted to get out of its grip.
It does work for me, however, and so I am glad I have a few left over for emergencies.
Side effects? "Grumpy as hell", but not sure you can blame the drugs or withdrawl for that - may have more to do with 4 months of no exercise whatsoever!

Drowsy, not sleepy I find they make me now.

Took 2 last night, sore neck from road ride the other day, and bent over lifts with weights.

( Must be trapped nerve in my neck/trapezius, as this happens every few months.)

Just dozed off on the floor for 1/2 hr before going to work.
Large coffee now to bring me round!

    Hi

For what it's worth I was prescribed Tramadol (bust hip and ribs from dopey car driver) together with other over the counter painkillers - made me feel quite 'spaced out' and forgetful so stopped taking them and felt normal (if more uncomfortable due to pain) quite quickly.

Ah sweetie those drugs are bad very bad the docs increased my dosage on friday and yet I think they are having less effect other than making me even more stupid.

    i'm on 400mg a day that's a lot I think and it's effecting everything

  • Comedian Frankie Boyle mentioned it on TV a while back. - He said his friend spent 3 weeks not leaving the house, high on Tramadol. For the whole 3 weeks the guy thought his ex-wife was still living with him!

I was given it over Christmas when I ended up in hospital with concussion and a smashed wrist - I felt so happy and mellow, not a care in the world, probably grinning like an idiot... best I'd felt in weeks! Fabulous stuff!

(Oh, and the week after that I had surgery and was sent home on Paracetamol and Co-Codamol - had next to no effect and felt like torture, worst few days of my life but was too out of it to sort out asking them for something different.)

Yeah after all these horror stories I'm pretty glad I've decided to jack them in and quick. Got another follow up appt tonight. I'm going to tell him no more pills, I want as scan instead of skirting round the issue and just dosing me up on happy tablets.

    Haven't taken many lately but...
Wondering if they are responsible for a weird sensation I'm getting?

Bad "reaction" to orange juice/cloudy lemonade or some fresh oranges. Acidy stuff.
Feels like someone sticking needles into your tongue and sometimes, tiny mouth ulcers on the tongue too. Ice cream/milk seems to limit the effect quickly.

Took two the other night , was "spaced out" til midday the next day, Really strong effect from just 2 tablets, then the mouth thing came on that night again. And I love oranges!!!!

Checked the side effects online and it says, Dry mouth possible.
Anyone else had this weird affect too?

    Ta...
  • When I took them I woke up next day with a mouth full of ulcers and sores all over my lips, another side effect apparently.

I have some from an old back injury, and dig them out now n then if it flares up.

First time I used them I fell asleep on the ceiling, as I was floating in bed.

    Well, it felt like it.

Now, I tend to have one at night to help me sleep if I twinge the back.
