What it is, is i want buy some thing on US ebay buy it now and it costs about 19 quid and 8 quid shipping, it states shipping is UPS, now is that UPS just for other there so who would pick it up here for delivery?. SO what like to know is how much extra would it cost me as dont want to pay more than its worth.

PS NO im not telling what it is and its NOT bike releted either ( for a change) :twisted: :roll:

i would email the seller for the cost of shipping to uk, its usually quite dear and the majority of stuff coming from the US generally gets delivered through parcelforce

Can you not get him to mark it as Gift?
Dont think you get taxed on that as i but a lot of my reptile food from America and they mark it as gift.

gift can only be for goods upto a certain value.

Also there is a lower limit that you dont get charged for anyway.

I generally get about £25 worth every 6mths or so.

I dunno how it works, but am dreading them putting VAT on (if they do) as its the only place i can get it :x

I ordered some brake hoses from the US also UPS...until they got here.
I was stung for £13
£5 duty
and £8 Royal mail"handling fee"!!!!!Robbinbarstewards
So all told the shipping was £27 for something that weighs about the same as 20 Fags :roll:
When I pointed out that I'd already paid shipping to UPS the knob on the counter said that was before customs passed them on to the RM who then have to charge the handling fee.So I asked why customs didn't cotact me direct and was told they have to use RM.

Rearrange there words.
