New bike complete with decent tyres?

Are there any road bikes out there for a max of £900 that come with decent puncture proof tyres?
Pretty much every bike I have seen comes with fairy stock tyres and it seems to be the first upgrade that everyone goes for.
Does such a thing exist? Or is it a case of getting a bike for £50 less and having to upgrade - seems like a waste of money to me though.

Most dealers will change the tyres for you to secure a sale. As for punture proof, there is no such thing. Some tyres resist cuts better than others, but the occassional deflation comes with the territory.0

Sorry, yes decent puncutre resistant tyres...... Some tyres are clearly much better in this category than others.
I am pretty sure that the CTW scheme I am on (Halfords) won't change the tyres as they know they will already get a sale, it will be an upgrade or go with whats on there already.0 -
Tyres are the last thing I'd pick a bike on the basis of. Buy what you want, then stick Michelin Krylion carbon on.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I wouldn't pick a bike purely on the tyres, but it is something that is important to me. As a commuter bike (22 mile round trip) I would want tyres that offer a bit of puncture protection before I have to spend another £50 on a new set.
It just seems a waste to upgrade straight away, I would want to use the tyres that the bike came with and replace them when they ran out of life.
Surely I am not asking too much for a new bike to come with half decent puncture resistant tyres for £800?0 -
The main outlay is the bike. If you're not happy with the bike then putting great tyres on it will make zero difference. Be happy with the bike FIRST then deal with the tyres. If you can get them swapped on at source then great.
And why has your budget now decreased by £100?
Bear in mind what tyres cost. You recognise that really good ones are £50. If they were on your bike in the first place that would be £50 less to go on other areas.
Besides. Some cheap tyres are good. Schwalbe Durano are fitted to a few bikes. Cost a tenner. Yet most people reckon they are excellent.
22 miles? I do 40 per day on Schwalbe Ultremo. Lightweight race tyre. One puncture in 2000 miles. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I guess I am making too much out of this.... :?
My budget hasn't changed it was a typo. I am going to get a voucher for £1k and use whatever I have left on accessories, I guess I could add some tyres to that as well, but I would have preferred not to.
I take it something like this would be suitable?

Yep. Good tyres. Amongst the most puncture resistant. But not puncture proof of course. Stick those on and you should be ok.
I take it your getting the Boardman Team? That has Continental Ultra Sport already on there.
They ain't that great. But it wouldn't stop me getting that bike and then getting some tyres.
TBH I'd spend your money and get them here:
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Conti ... 360028016/
Giving you, effectively, two spare inner tubes for if something does go wrong.
Then you've got the £100 left for other accessories.
PLease don't take this the wrong way but if you can't afford to get some tyres with your own money then just have a think about owning a bike. They can be quite expensive to run!My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Thanks bendertherobot,
I am considering the Boardman team, but I am likely to go for something different and am hoping to find a few of these in my local shop and then ask Halfords if they will buy one in for me:
Specialized Allez Elite
Trek 1.5
Cannondale CAAD 8
I have already asked Halfords if they can order in a Focus Variado Expert to see how it compares to Wiggle's £599. I doubt they will be able to get one in or be anywhere near that price though which seems a bargain.
I was going to get a CX bike but i've changed my mind again and decided I definately want a road bike as the quicker I get to and from work the better!
I would only get the tyres from Halfords because I will be able to efectively get 40% off them by using the CTW scheme.
I also get 10% for accessories on the value of the voucher so I should get a further £100 to use if I get the £1k voucher.
I realise I will be spending a few quid on replacing parts etc, I am not worried about that at all as I am going to be getting rid of a car and it has to be cheaper than maintaining that....also a lot better for me :P0
