...stick the Casio keyboard on Electro/Goth rock and do some goddawful warbling over the top. Ok, so they put on 'a good show' - fair enough if you're impressed by a few lazers; doesn't pull the wool over my eyes - SHHIIITEE!!!!!

I live in Devon and not liking muse down here is like blasphemy against the boys who done good from teignmouth. Personally it's too much like program rock with the bass overdoing the 'synthbass' effects pedal and it all sounds the same.

Do we think Muse are recording clean? I'm sure at some point they were linked to PEDs? Maybe someone has a graph of their blood values at the point each album was released.
Personally I find them OK, quite good in fact. As for Florence and her machine, well, she has suspiciously big hands.

i agree theyve dropped off abit since the likes of plug in baby and some of their covers, still enjoy them though

anddd i like florences album but caught some highlights from glastonbury and contemplated taking a knife to my ears (not a sharp one though).

If Muse were doping then surely the music would be a lot better ?

Don't dis Florence, her singalong with Dizzee rascal at the brits was smashing. :D

Someone asked recently, who would be the new forum hate figure would be when Armstrong retired again. You would have got long odds on it being Muse..

You're all jealous haters. They've won best live act 7 times. 7 times. And they've never failed a test. Oasis just say that Muse were doping because they are bitter has-beens!!!!

Muse are fantastic. Bellamy makes Thom Yorke look like an amateur.

Their latest album is brilliant. Amazing string arrangements. Love United States of Eurasia. Brilliant hand claps.

Some of the drum patterns are mind blowing. And the bass parts are so subtle but are a real tour de force.

The accompany DVD I got with the CD shows just how talented they are.

And for those who knock them, put up who you think are credible bands so we can critique them.

You spoke too soon Pross.

That said, SpaceJunk is an Aussie so, like his brethren, clearly knows nothing about music.

    Midnight Oil?

Might I add that Australia's top 5 musical exports are:

    AC/DC (haven't been "home" for 20 years)
The Wiggles (look them up on wikipedia)
    Rolf Harris
    Kylie Minogue
Newsboys (some born again Christian rock band)

    I rest my case.
  • Muse = Poor man's Radiohead.

Muse are also part of the terrible shiiiite of the past 10 years along with Coldplay, random bands nominated for Ivor Novellos and Mercury music prize + all the bands created by the 'Random Noun generator' machine e.g. "The Pigeon Staplers", "The Dustbin Shouters" etc.

Can you imagine any of the bands of the last 10 years realistically being thought of in the same league as Hendrix, Led Zep, Pink F, The Smiths, The Sex Pistols etc?

    I'm not bitter, I promise.
    What wheels...? Wheelsmith.co.uk!
  • Were the Sex Pistols formed before or after the existence of the random noun generator?

Who else do we know has won something 7 times ?

Conspiracy theorists to the front please ?

Oasis were shite after the first album died off, shoe gazing in Adidas was all they were.
