Afternoon all

A friend and I are driving down to Morzine on Wednesday for 4 or 5 days of biking.

Has anyone got any recommendations as to chalets/apartments/hotels we might want to stay in?

Personally I'd like a room in a reasonably large self catered chalet, but most seem to insist on a full weeks booking. Ideally we need decent bike storage, and would rather avoid camping.

Also, should we book before we go, or is it ok to just turn up?

Cheers for any help. :)

I used to use the morzine tourist office booking service - if you know where you want to stay you can get amazing deals there - my first trip to the town to ride 6-7 years ago we paid £20 each for a nice apartment in the very centre of town.

Cheers, there are plenty of places on that website to look through.

Looks like we may have got an apartment through www.holiday-rentals.co.uk ...

just came back from our second trip to Morzine. This time we stayed with Ride and Slide and i must say, they were great. Chalet was amazing (Guytaune) and John and Lisa were always more than happy to help, can't recommend these people enough.

I dunno if there's any in Morzine, but I imagine so...
...try a gite. (well, gîte actually).

Think along the lines of a bunk house and you're there.

You'll be in a bunk, probably in a shared room if it's busy (though not necessarily) with a shared kitchen and - if you get a good one - a really good mix of people from all over the world.

Quite possibly the best way to travel in France.

I've met some truly brilliant people in those places.
