  • I haven't weighed the Concept stuff but, to my hand, it appears heavy, perhaps twice as much. So change the bars and stem for a start.

The seatpost I don't like. Prob go for carbon there.

Tyres have to change, you could save 400g or so just there.

So I reckon you could save:

    Tyres 400g
    Handlebars 200g
    Stem 100g
    Seatpost 250g

    So, that's a kilo saving.

New wheels will almost certainly do for 600g or so. Pro lite at Ribble will prob get you almost 750g saving.

Close to 8 or perhaps below then.

My Focus Variado when it arrived was 21.6lb

    Now is at 17.6lb.

Full SRAM Rival on it, Shimano RS10 wheel, Kenda ultralight tyres, FSA SLK seatpost, stem and bars, Fizik Arione,

    Lot of bits were spares.

I'm now going to replace the frameset with a Canyon AL Evo but I have been more than happy with the Variado.
  • Was only 60g in the end on the stem, but still.

  • Upgrade so far:

FSA Wing Pro Compact White Road Handlebar (250g)
FSA cheap alloy Stem (almost the same weight as original...)
    Specialised Toupe Saddle

Added lights, bottle cage and a cross-top break

    still at 9.50kg

Ordered Fulcrumm 5 but still on back order.

Don't think I can ever get under 9kg...
  • See my post above.

    Mine is sub 9kg now.
