Comments by a Eurosport TV announcer...whilst he is on the Pave:

"The former Mountain Bike making good work of the cobbles..."

Er, isn't that what Mtb'rs do, ride over rough surfaces?

Cadel, Landis et al : Why do people think that the previous use of knobby tyres, excludes riders from being able to ride really well on tarmac too?

Rearrange the words "Hole" and "Pigeon" to make a well-known sentence...

Taken out of context it reads like the commentator was making the same point as you - having been a MTBer he is suited to riding well on the Pave. If it was Harmon then he is an ex MTBer and never misses an opportunity to tell us how MTBers have fantastic bike handling skills on any surface. The only time I've ever seen him in the flesh was on the Phil and Friends ride when he was on the deck at the foot of the first descent just after the start having lost it under braking in the wet !

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.
