You will probably be charged with Import tax

My Thudbuster replacement is with UPS.

Being held up for Tax and Duty payments.

But, as I'm part-exing me old one, I'm getting it for $90 with free P+P, instead of £140 here.

So, Tax/Duty not gonna make much difference to me.

Strictly it should be liable for import duty (between 4 and 10% depending on what that category attracts) and then 17.5% VAT on top of that new value.

However at that value they are less likely to bother, especially if the sender sends marked as (ahem) gift.

Is that what the Yanks wrote on all of their "Tomahawk" cruise missiles?

Its not really worth it after all the extra tax unless you have a mate there who likes giving you bike part shaped gifts
