    With the rice thing, I've never had a problem, even *gasp* leaving it in the le creuset on the side overnight then freezing the next day.

    I was always told you can't reheat anything twice. But I still haven't made myself unwell doing so.

    I may, of course, just have a cast-iron constitution. YMMV.

    Why can't you just say "big iron pan" ya big posh southern person you.

    Big iron pan does not really fit with AGA and Shaker style kitchen, ya get me bruv!?

    Dried Couscous + fish or chicken/salad - find kettle
    or Dried Noodles + fish or chicken/salad - find kettle
    or Pasta + fish or chicken/salad - made night before or during breakfast
    and also Carton of fruit & nuts
    Cottage cheese + bread sticks/raw veg
    Fruit - banana/apple/tangerine
    Mint/herbal tea - can't be arsed to get milk which goes off

    Avoid crisps & chocalte bars from works vending machine and canteen.

    Rice - i dont dispute the science above but first time I've heard of the danger. Been married to an oriental for 10 yrs and there is always a huge pot of boiled rice lying on our stove. Lies out for 2-3 days until eaten, then a new pot is cooked. Stays at room temp all the time though, it isnt frozen, and is nuked in the microwave to reheat.

    And in Glasgow room temperature is usually cold :(

    Cheers folks. A fair few ideas to try out. I'll let you know how it goes, trying to avoid sandwiches as I've been doing those for a while. Probably go the pasta route to start with.
