True Newb Gear Issue Question

Hi all,
I've had my Giant Rapid 3 for a week. Done just under 100 miles. Love it to bits, even in the pouring rain today.
However, gears 4, 5 and 6 are very noisy, like the chains dragging against metal and I'm not getting smooth transitions on some of the higher gears. Often, I click to the next gear but then have to push the lever again a little bit further to actually shift up or down. Also, on a few occasions, I've shifted up to the next gear but it seems to have skipped up 2 or 3 gears for a second then slips back to the intended gear which is a real pain when you're flying along!
I don't know the first thing about tuning, tweaking or basically anything mechanical. Should I just take it back to the shop for them to sort out, or is this 'normal' for these gears?
The set up is:
Shifters SHIMANO SL-R225 & SL-R221 24 speed
Front Derailleur Shimano R443
Rear Derailleur SHIMANO Sora
Cassette SRAM PG850 12-26
Chain KMC Z72
Crankset FSA Tempo, 30/42/52
All advice greatly appreciated!

Cables could have stretched a little. Try turning the barrell adjuster on the rear mech a couple of turns anti clockwise to take up the slack0

It could be that you're 'cross-chaining' or the gear cable may need a slight adjustment as already mentioned.

Wot gulliano said. Almost certainly due to the cables stretching / things bedding in. Little bit of twiddling with the barrel adjuster either at the mech or at the stop on the downtube.0
