Why would a piece of small plastic is so expensive?

I had to pay like £50, so I can use the Motion Control.
The Avid Speed Dial 7 levers aren't even close that expensive,
and thats a lot of aluminum there.

Quite a speciality part and not all that common, plus also probably not all that common to sell as aftermarket, all that drives prices up. Still seems too expensive but not insanely.

Well luckily the fork didn't cost me that much so it was affordable,
but if it was more I would have probably make some DIY lever.

Now the tires will have to wait to be replaced,
and hopefully tomorrow I'll post some pictures of the fork, bike...

Christ, tnought they'd be pricey but not thatpricey !!
Snapped mine a few weeks ago, i'll now be either bodging the leaver back together of removing the return spring out of the MC cartridge, sod paying £50 !!

Yeah, just get rid of it tbh, just extra complexity. I suppose it's useful if you have little tyranosaurus arms and can't reach the top of the fork leg

Thread hijack but is that possible? Mine has broken too and I was thinking of doing that sort of thing but I was nt sure if I could just replace it with the non poploc topcap?

Can't see the point of locking the fork all together but that's another debate.
I have a LH RS poploc lever, offers by PM if anyone wants it.

    PM'd nick, im after one.

    ..on topic, there bloody expensive!
  • My grey plastic button snapped off. Luckily i found it and sellataped it back on, it still works but you dont get that plush spring back.

They're often up for sale for about £20 on the classifieds section. Also seen them on tinternet for £35. As you said before still expensive for what it is.

Dunno to be honest, haven't looked yet, don't see why not tho, the poploc lever has been bust for ages now, haven't missed it so got knows when i'll get round to sorting it.

Am I wrong, or would this do exactly the same thing as a adjustable poploc?

Just looking for a cheap alternative... :)

That one might work, and you can adjust the compression more,
instead of the half way through which the poploc allows.
