    sure.

The stock shock size for the latest generation of Heckler is 215mm x 64mm. By replacing it with a longer stroke shock you can achieve more travel. In this case with a 222mm x 70mm shock. This is the absolute maximum shock length that will fit. There is a small amount of space between the rear shock mounting and the seat post. I took the spring off and fully compressed the shock to check for tyre clearance. There is loads to play with. 8)

Yes it would void the warranty. My frame is out of the warranty period so it doesn't matter to me.

I have had a couple of rides on the Heckler LT now to give some initial feedback.

First off. travel is now roughly 6.66" or 170mm. Evil Heckler 8)

The Vivid coil is sitting high in it's stroke so the HA is steeper making the 160mm travel up front feel spot on for trail use as and it no longer feels like I'm trying to turn a Tank. Climbing is better with the steeper HA and the higher BB means less rock strikes. The shock doesn't feel as plush in the first part of the stroke as the DHX with Ti spring does. But point it at rocks and it just eats them up. So much more controlled. What surprised me most is how more stable it is going down hill. Awesome.

Overall I would say it is a good mod but you have to run a big fork. Running the Talas at 130mm didn't feel that great. And who said 170mm travel single Pivot bikes don't pedal well? :D

The 2011 Kashima fork blows chunks in the general direction of the older Talas.
