I'm hopefully getting around £850 from an insurance claim involving my roadie, so, instead of getting a new road bike that will never get used, I've decided to get a bigger travel mtb for messing about on.
I've been thinking of a 06-08 Specialized Enduro, as they seem to go for around £850 or less, but I figure they are quite likely to have been hammered, and need some cash spent on forks, shocks ect.
Also found a Mongoose Teocali Super 09 new for £899 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT
which seems a bargain for the spec and gets good reviews generally.
Anyone got any other suggestions on something to look out for.
140-160mm travel are my only requirements really.

Hard to give advice on 2nd hand bikes as the market changes fast - a case of looking through ads and ebay.
That Mongoose is exceptional for the money though.0 -
Get the Mongoose, that is an absolute bargain. And it is new, with warranty...0

Mongoose is pretty much what I've been thinking, unless a super cheap Zesty or Orange 5 comes up.And now you know, and knowing is half the battle
