Ran over a pigeon last night!

Doing my extended training ride home last night I came across a flock of pigeons sat in the road eating something, nothing unusual, so I carried straight on and as usual they all left it to the last second then took off, all bar one that is.
Buy the time I realised he/she was not going to move it was all too late and squish (when crunch actually) one less skyrat in London.
Guess it proves all the time spent tracking down and fixing squeaks, rattles, creaks has worked, the poor little fecker never heard me coming.

    Hehe!

I hit a poor little rabbit one morning a few years ago, well it hit me really, it ran into my back wheel which skidded me to a halt. Had to reverse my bike up to pull it out of the seat stays

A pigeon actually flew into and bounced off my spokes this morning. Dunno what happened to him afterwards. I almost run a squirrel over - good luck they are speedy vermin :)

I managed to wing a pigeon as it swooped a bit too low across the road - connected with the upper part of the front tyre and bounced off but managed to keep airborne - lucky.

I had one leave it too late and bounce off the head tube as it attepted to escape. Unfortunately I don't think I killed it.

I know pigeons love a game of chicken but I had assumed that was because they always won, it would appear from the responses that they are not as good as they like to think they are.

Had a squirrel run through my front wheel last year. he did a full 360 before being thrown out again. I think a good what against the fork had snapped his spine. I was a touch disapointed my bladed spokes didn't do a good job of cutting him cleanly in two.

ive always wondered if riding over the corpse of a bird/rabbit could cause you to puncture

Well it wasn't a corpse when my front wheel hit it but probably was by the time my back wheel did - and no p******re.

I always thought cycling was good for the environment but it appears we leave a trail of roadkill in our wake.

Once got a pigeon by the tail feathers - I think it probably improves the environment removing pigeons and grey squirrels - after all squirrels are just rats with a good publicist

Am I the only one wondering what the hell kind of forks those are?

    They're huge!

Actually, it was digging up the roots. Grey squirrels are vermin.

At least she didn't stop to kiss it...

Re. Grey squirrels annihaliting the Red population - yes - t'is true - but apparently it's not because they're massive and aggressive, kicking the living daylights out of our belov'd Reds to steal their food - it's that they don't hibernate as long, so are in many respects just the early bird catching the worm

L'il old Red wakes up, goes "Hmm.. hungry now - what the?!" and then starves and dies yadda yadda....

The olive tree allows me to make excellent martinis. Squirrels have no similar uses.
