I'm trying to work out which one to go on... being veggie can limit the options (Mongolia is a non starter  )

I like the idea of using these guys as the money goes directly to the locals and you keep the impact of tourism to a minimum

Seeing as that is the kind of holiday to appeal to the knit-your-own-sandals tree-hugging hippy-crap brigade, would they not cater for veggies?

Serious question, it's just asked sarcastically. I quite like the look of it.

It's the food available locally - Mongolians have 10 times more cattle than people - so they have very little concept of us weiry beardies

Laos Borneo and the like seem the most appealing at the moment (although the Transylvania would be well cool 8) )

Fancy Ho Chi Minh city to Angkor Wat - mostly Buddhist so no problems with vegetarianism

Well, if you'd like to scroll slightly up the thread, you'll see me jumping enthusiastically to an incorrect assumption.

    Carry on.

Fully agree - how about saying you've cycled in the Himalayas?

Actually Mongolia is mostly horses and camels depending on the area - fermented mares milk is a speciality

Not much in the way of roads though, so beware all you roadies - the potholes will leave you breathless!

I have been seriously thinking about acquiring an expedition-grade bike as my next n+1 for exactly this sort of escapade...

    Pogo Stick
Donkey on Roller skates.......OK I'm lying, but I am down to one bike right now and I feel bad about it,

Ho Chi Minh City to Angkor Wat via Phnom Pen is about 450 miles over 10 days - fairly easy riding I guess depending on road conditions
