Me and my wife have just come up with a brilliant plan. She is not a cyclist but I really, really want to get some light touring done this summer. So here's the plan:

Day 1: Ride Hebden Bridge to Hull (145km), board overnight ferry
Day 2: Arrive Rotterdam. Ride Rotterdam to Amsterdam (approx 100km taking coastal route). Meet my wife in Amsterdam, who has sailed over. Spend 2 nights with her in Amsterdam.
Day 5: Board overnight Amsterdam-Newcastle ferry (with wife!)
Day 6: Arrive Newcastle. Wife gets train home. I ride home. (180km)

Total distance ridden: 425km
Total luggage carried on bike: NIL!!
Good times had: LOTS!!

Anyone else do cheeky ferry hops like this?
