Hi
I'm going to stay in a cottage for a week at the beginning of August with my girlfriend and her parents and i'm looking at doing a bit of cycling while i'm there. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with the area and if I would be better taking my Road bike or taking my Mountain bike instead?
The place we're staing at says its within 100 yards of the Severn Way National Trail and just off Route 81 of the National Cycle Network......So if anyone has any knowledge of the area it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I cycled the Lon Las Cymru last October and went right through the area you mention (NCR81) and it is great. I was on a road bike/tourer and had a great time. There are of course mountain biking possibilities too, but not being a mountain biker I did not pursue them. Horses for course, I guess. It's up to you. What I can say though is that the roads, the quiet little lanes along the Lon Las Cymru, were great, some of the most pleasurable cycling I've ever done and I've toured all over the world.
  • Thanks very much for the reply. Thats been a great help.......
