Spraying my frame

Hi guys,
I would like to spray my frame black, I'm not too worried about getting a perfect job so long as it lasts. I'm guessing that spraypaint won't work unless I've primed it and I'm guessing that primer won't work until I've sanded it down a bit. Can anyone give me a quick step-by-step including materials required?
Bike is a Voodoo Bokor with aluminium frame (I don't like the original colour!)
EDIT: The other option I thought of was glow in the dark but don't know how good this would be!

Nitromorrs paint stripper and wire wool use gloves!
For about 30-40 quid you could prob get a local sprayer to do the rest0 -
If ur not bothered about the finish then a tin of hammerite from halfords will do the job and it'll last an age too
