Plastic bag in the derailleur and cogs at the back

I was unlucky enough this morning, just before my London to Southend bike ride, to see a plastic bag floating about. I stopped the bike immediately but it was too late, it went around the cogs at the back and a bit in the derailleur system. Pull all of it (as far as I can see) and it did not stop me doing the ride. Is there anything else I should do, or just a good normal clean followed by the usual lub.
Thanks

Take the chain off and take the derailler apart to make sure you got ride of all the bits of the bag?

Happened to me, and I just did what you did.. Pull out all the visible bits, turn the cranks by hand while changing gears up and down across the rear cogs, then carry on as normal!

Its a plastic bag... if there is anything left inside the mech, it will get shredded and spat out!
