FS bike advice needed.

Hi All,
I'm looking at changing from a Giant XTC2 to a FS bike as I find my back is suffering on longer rougher rides. I'm looking at the Giant (Anthem), Felt, Lapierre (Zesty) or Fuji. From talking to friends I'm shying away the Zesty as a few have had issues with them. The Anthem would be the X2, although I could probably push my budget to the X1 if someone could explain/help me justify the extra 400 Euros price tag. The Fuji and the Felt are both relatively unknown to me.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated
