I entered the Scott CR1 comp in cycling plus a few months ago. I got a email the other night to say I had won :D ..... still hasnt sunk in. Both Cycling plus and Scott have been excellent . They arranged for me to get the bike from Epic Cycles (top service from Simon) and Im off to Switzerland in Oct to left behind by the staff there on some hills. I cant rate Epic highly enough well worth the 120 mile round trip and nice coffee too.

Its rainng today but who cares im off out to see how she handles around my way.

Da Iawn Boyo! ( Very good mate...)

I won a Giant Carbon TCR 2, Full Ultegra in 2008, and 4 days all-paid to the TdF via Giant.

    Nice feeling isn't it?

First, you think it's a con/fraud, then you can't believe it - "Why me?" - sets in.

Finally, you think you've won the bloody Lottery...

    ENJOY!

Im made up cant get it into my head that its mine. The bike rides lovely and so light compared to my old Scott. Im a little aprehensive about the trip given my fitness level but all the same im chuffed to beans.

Its a great feeling and im not gloating but I had tell somebody other than the mrs :D

Yep, Kaiiirrrrddiffff Born and Kaiiiiirrrddiffff bred, butty!

As well as four days/flight to Paris we had, Giant jackets, watches, t-shirts, kit bag, and two sets of Columbia HTC kits, AND a Signed HTC Team Top too. ( Framed now.)

Also had a T shirt signed by Robbie Mc Kewan and Andy Schleck.

We had VIP seats on near the finish line on the Champs Elysees, on the last day, 36 degrees!

    EPIC!!!

Congratulations gwillis. It is great to see someone win a prize that they really appreciate.

Reminds me of winning a racing car set when I was a lad. My family were stony broke at the time and, same as you, I couldn't believe it when I won. The only downside is that I have gone through life thinking that competitions can be won (but not enough to spend £1.50 on the TDF comp for that new spangley Scott R3 on offer this week...perhaps the freebie entry itv.com could be the answer :) )

Stll hasnt sunk in and I have to say the guys at cycling plus and Scott have been great. I rode her today and did a small write up in the other forum. Must say it rides sooooo well and I really consider myself lucky to be in this position. Im sure some would sell it but its a keeper for sure. Im looking forward to the trip as well although im sure im in for a kicking on the hills...

Hi, I was hoping to do the AMR Brecons 100 in August and ripped part of their route since it is a nice one. My dad lives in Manordeilo so the plan was to stop over there. Well, that was the plan but it is now looking unlikely for other reasons.

Lovely part of the world that but a slightly different pace to Leckhampton

    B***ard mine cost me £1350 :x

Congratulations, you'll love the bike - make the most of Switzerland. We ought to form a Gwent CR1 owners club

I'm just waiting for Wiggle to contact me to let me know I've won the Focus in their Tour competition, I'll then be nicking the groupset and wheels of it for my Scott and selling the Focus on ebay

Hey nice one, nothing better than a free bike!

It's going back a few years now, but I won the very first Cycling Weekly Fantasy Tour League and got myself a Cannondale R4000 with full Dura-Ace and Spinergy wheels. I don't have it anymore, but it was a cracking bike made even better from it costing me about £10 in telephone calls.

Hope you enjoy your new bike just as much as I enjoyed mine! :D

Caerleon? Used to play golf there on the nice course where you could hire clubs.
Going back to the late 70's.

There's that nice archaeological site there too,

Golf course is still there and still a municipal. The Roman remains are still there too  they've even opened the amphitheatre up now, just need to get a few chavs in there killing each other for our entertainment - shouldn't be too hard with Newport so close

Well done gwillis. It's great when you win things but it must be great to win such a significant prize.

    Happy "free" cycling. 8)
