I'm getting kitted out with some cycling stuff from Decathlon - shorts, shoes and tops. I'm not expecting to use it more than a couple of times a week so I dont want to lay out loads on it all.

Does anyone have experience of their cheap stuff?

They have shorts for £7, tops for £8 and shoes for £25 - all B'Twin stuff.

Thanks

Tom

    I have 2 of these shirts: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/sport-bas ... -69515828/

    And 2 of these shorts: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/cycling-s ... 117137430/

The shirts are really simple and have a back pocket but they feel really light. I only got those shorts because the padding is much better than the cheap ones but you can get the cheap ones if you don't need much padding. You can also get bibs obviously, I just don't like those.
You can simply get 1 of each as they dry out pretty fast. I got 2 since I forget to wash them after I get home sometimes.

As for shoes, I wouldn't really recommend them. I got sidis as they're way more comfortable (expensive though).

The cheap cycling tops are great for everyday riding. I've got the bib-shorts with the red pad in, and again they are fine for the money (about £30).

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

Good stuff but i found anything more than a gel in the rear pocket of the jersey and it sagged a lot but for the price i think its good.

Bought quite a few things and everything has been great. Latest purchase was a short bib reduced to £9.99 (65% discount). and tried it today for the first time on a 67miles ride and it was great. My Decathlon in Lakeside has always some discontinued stuff and if you are lucky to find your size there are some bargains to be had.

I have 2 of the £8 tops and they're great, still going strong after a year. I also use one of their running jackets for cycling too, lightweight, very cheap, not fully waterproof but not 'boil in the bag' either!

Nice one. I found some Karrimor padded shorts for £10 today so I picked them up, will get some of those tops though.

    Shoes no good then???

All my cycling kit is Decathlon, sure it may not cut a dash on the cat walk, but its cheap and functional.
