New to the bike world trek allant or vienna 2 step through?

I had my heart set on the trek allant for the the past few months but went to the local bike shop today and they were convinced the specialized vienna 2 step through was better for my needs. I just sold my car and am using the bike to pick up groceries around town, possibly commute to work 5m every now and again and possible carry up metro for bike rides in downtown DC. Any thoughts on which one is better? As an artist, I'm loving the design of the trek allant.

Both look like similar bikes to me, both are good makes. What your heart says is often the best possible guide. Go with it I say.

As a possibly related aside, I went into Evans a few months back and they tried to push a Specialized on me quite aggressively without offering other options. I know Specialized do some great bikes, but I wonder if they perhaps offer incentives to salesmen.
