Hip Problem

Been riding for 19 months and about broken even on the cost of my first bike versus car / parking at work. Unfortunately bought a new road bike but thats another story isn't it.
Got a hip problem strain thing going on on the left side.
Riding a B17. Could it be too wide and puching my left hip out a bit?
or perhaps my cleat on the left side needs sliding back on the shoe so the hip moves better?
I dunno. Any ideas
Cycling itself is absolutely fine, It's walking up a slight incline which hurts on the front of the hip, left side.
Tried moving the cleat. Siezed in. Shoes stink anyway. Replacing in August.

Stupid question - I am not an expert, but would you get this if your saddle was pointed off to one side slightly say 5° or so?0

Do a search for iliotibial band and that may answer your questions. Stretches but needs to be the right ones..0

Try lowering your saddle a bit. You can get hip pains if your saddle is too high. It happens when due to rocking your hips across the saddle at pedal BDC.- - - - - - - - - -
