help with front changer

whats up with this ?
i cant seem to get enough range on the changer - a double front ring - if I adjust it so the guide clears the chain in the lowest gear, then on the big ring it only throws over enough to clear the chain until half way up the cassette
there is movement in the chain guide if I push the lever over, but the indexed position settles back - help I am so frustrated with it

Have you tried getting more tension in the front mech cable by pulling it through a little more? Or you could try adjusting the limit screws?FCN 2-4.
