hi as you will see this is my first post , and a real newbe question,, my local bike shops sell these bikes, 1, sells trex, ,another forme, and another, merida, now like a lot of us i intend to get this through the scheme, so which make, do you think im looking towards the 750 pound mark here , and no that some of them are around that price , so i guess what i neeed to no is whats the best make in that range,, ps all road bikes ..thanks in advance ,,,, :)

    trek are great bikes:) id go for a trek as they are great bikes for the price you can get them for:)

    Blade, try them and see what you like and what feels good. Fit is more important than brand or the material the bike is made of. Your work bike scheme might specify which store you can buy from, so check that out first. AS you start to see things you like, use this website for reviews. £750 is alot of money for most of us, and you'll be paying it per month from your salary for a year or so, so do yourself a favour and do your homework before buying. Cycling PLus magazine is a great read and always reviews bikes in different price brackets, so give it a read or find the artcles on BR somewhere.

    Bikes at a similar price opoint will be comparible. Buy the one which feels best after a test ride, if they all fit well buy the one you like the look of best.

    thats what i thought too, only make i never heard of was forme , but all shops say theirs is the best :shock:

    i will have £1000 to spend soon throught the cycle to work scheme and i want to buy my first road bike.I own boardman mountian bikes and they are brilliant ,but are there any similarly specced road bikes in the £1000 pound bracket.

    well went and done it bought a forme vision and love it so far got it on tuesday nite but only really got out last nite for 20 mile but more to come ,,,,
