roughly what would a LBS charge to face a BB shell and fit an external BB ?
clearly it varies from shop to shop but just a ball park figure from those whom have had this work done will do.
thanks peeps.

if bought from them usually free. but anywhere from 20-30 quid if brought in.
also depends if the old bb needs removing."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

thanks nick.
yes old square taper needs removing and new parts supplied by me.
sub £50 all in would be reasonable.0 -
Sounds a lot to me....
Does it really need doing?
EDIT
If your frame is a modern ish one - check if other (costlier) models came with an external BB. If they did then it's very likely they have done all the frames in the range properly as they would not have known what hardware would have been fitted in the factory the frame was made in.0 -
tredz in cardiff charged me 15 quid, but i did buy the new bb and chainset from them so it may have been a discounted price0

nope , all Q series felts ( my bike ) have internal BB's
and the surface of the shell doesnt look flat enough to guarantee external BB longevity.
so gotta be done.0 -
Yeah - never knew what your bike was - just suggesting things to try and save you some dosh!
Have you wet and dryed the paint off to see properly?0 -
