Do you lose your data when you have a battery replaced on a CS300?

Also, has your low battery indicator ever come up in the display when the battery is low?

Thanks

I think you need to send them off to Polar for replacements, and you'd best create an online account on their webiste www.polarpersonaltrainer.com and download first (see the data transfer setion here: http://www.polar.fi/en/products/improve ... ing/CS300/ )

I dont know for sure but my expectation would be that you'd def lose data on a battery change as its unlikely to have a back-up cell in such a small unit. But might be wrong. But I think my RS800CX works like that.

Anyway, as I am clearly on a work avoidance day, esp given the looming deadlines I have like a sword of damacles above me head, I went to polar website and checked for you and I am indeed right about having to send it off, here's the details: http://www.polar.fi/en/support/product_ ... enDocument

And you can click on there to find a local polar dealer.

Hi SLJ - long time no hear!

It has actually been back to Polar (sorry, maybe I should have mentioned that in my first post!). They said they have replaced the battery - I was just really surprised that all my data was intact when it came back. It had done 254hrs of recording - the Polar website says a battery should last for 2hrs a day for 1-2 years - so at a minimum, 700hrs. I also didn't get a low battery indicator on the watch before I sent it back. It was recording heart rate fine but stopped recording speed on both my bikes.

Mr A used to lose all his data whenever his old 725 went back for a new battery.

I've used it this morning on the turbo and it's behaving rather strangely - at one point dumping me out of record mode and displaying a large egg timer in the middle of the screen. I've never seen an egg timer on my Polar before!

Haven't been able to test if the speed sensors work yet as it's raining!

well hello - I've been away for a while: hurt my back reeeely badly, took ages to get it sorted enough to function without painkillers let alone get back on the bike. All to do with the ex-broken leg, now under physio treatment to put it right hopefully. Changed jobs around the same time to something with lots more challenge & responsibility (but same pay - hmmm) so with both things going on, I sort of fell off the radar for a while. And other than that little crisis, cycling going v well: getting fitter & faster and more confident.

After i posted my reply I did an inward groan that I was teaching you to suck eggs a bit, I realised (after pressing send) that you'd already know all that. Anyways.

Point 1 in reply: Maybe polar restored your data?

Point 2 in reply: Looks like you're gonna have to contact their "support" line. Good luck with that. They are nice guys but it took 10 days to geta response from them when I used them, and it was to tell me what I already knew wasn't the problem and had made clear in the initial query.
