MTB All Mountain - Where in the UK is Best

I live in Scotland, but am from Northumberland. So i've been blessed with amazing countryside and routes to ponder over.

Where is the best in the UK for Riding? I know west coast Scoland is amazing as is far north and grampian.

Where else is great?

    Basically.....everywhere!


    rode the lariag eilde from the pass of glencoe to bonawe...top 10 descents ever and the climb was 95% rideable

    another belter was a loop starting and finishing at the bothy at loch muick (alt glas?) going over 3 munros + two munro tops...best descent that day was from the summit of Carn an t-Sagairt Mor (with the crashed canberra on top) to loch callater...again top 10 ever...

    Done more southern stuff...from banks of loch lugnaig to glenfinglas rese, over the hills to Balquihidder - then to Balquihidder station, then back to the van at loch lugnaig....

    point being...

    first example was in the west highlands, second in deeside, third in perthsire...

    all within 2.5 hours from edinburgh...

    get yourself a map....some mates.....find dotted line....go ride!

    Surrey Hills has some nice stuff, but then I see those pics from Scotland and think that Surrey looks like a blue family trail all over :roll:
