A group of us 6 in total are planning a weekend trip to Whinlatter in September and are looking for accommodation in and or around Keswick. I known there’s a overabundance of B&B’s but was just enquiring if anybody out there knows of self catering or bunk house style of property available to a group of smelly MTBer’s

We stayed int he one at Cockermouth when we were there but there's one in Keswick to.
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

Used the one in Keswick and Mags Howe at Kentmere. Mates have used the Ambleside one.

Good YHAs @ Keswick and Ambleside.

i have stayed at both the borrowdale and keswick yha's the borrowdale is probably a better base for mtm, as you are further down the vally awway from the town. and keswick itself gets packed at this time of year and the roads can be horrible for bikes, dont know what it would be like in sept. overall though both places are pretty good, but in the end you wont spend that much time in wherever because you will probs be out most of the day :) i remember thinking that keswick was pretty cheap, but i went a few years ago.

We went in early September last year and are going in late September this year and Keswick although still busy is much quieter then in May-Aug.I've been going for years and generally go in April/May or Sept/Oct to avoid the really busy periods 8)
