Can anyone recommend a campsite near to Grizedale?
Am going to be riding round the fire roads and doing a bit of fishing up there with my Dad and 2 brothers in 2 weeks.
I know the one we used to camp at is now a carpark/visitor center which is a bit poo
If possible we'd like to be able to have a camp fire so we can get merry and sit around it at night.
Seen this place which looks promising... fires allowed and might even get a Yurt

you could camp on the other side of lake coniston at coniston hall then either drive round or ride round or try the campsite at hawkshead just below grizedale (steep road to get up)0

Camp at coniston, the fire road up is easy if somewhat tedious and the descent down towards brantwood (the middle bridleway on the map) is ace :-)
