Problem with Halfords

When I got my Carrera Titan almost 2 years ago now, it was described as having
"Formula Hubs with sealed cartridge bearings"
Ive just had the rear hub stripped down only to find goold old fashioned cup and cones.
Ive got nothing against this type of hub - but its not what i thought i was buying.
Anyone got any suggestion what i could/should do about it?

nothing, as all bikes are listed as 'specification subject to change without notice'.0

I remember someone else had this exact problem in the forum. I think the answer was as previously mentioned "specification subject to change without notice".
If you had of been really clever you'd have asked at the time of purchase the exact specification and compared, but 99.99% of us rarely doCAAD9

hey ho!
Im getting a new wheelset soon anyways.0 -
I remember reading this before, there was a misprint in at least some of the ads that said cartridge in one place and "sealed" in another with no mention of what type of bearing. Not sure if yours is one of those. The answer though was "who cares", assuming that you've looked after them there's nothing wrong with those formula hubs.Uncompromising extremist0

So why whinge about it?
Anyway there's nothing wrong with coned bearings at all..0 -
Spec liable to change is usually what the manufacturer states - but for a retailer, goods should be as described.0

My new bike said it came with a QR seat clamp, it didn't, phoned them and they sent me one straight away. 2 years is pushing it that was after 2 days.0

cone and cup bearings are generally sealed. so what is the issue?
XT are cone and cup but they are also sealed."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

lol i wasnt whinging about about anything
the only issue was that i bought something that wasnt "as described" and wondered what opinions were.
But as its been pointed out - "spec liable to change without notice" which is fair enough.
Im far from complaining - ive done about 5000 miles problem free.0 -

Saved me going into detail and saying above not true for Halfords....0 -
Halfords bikes have a tendency to be mixed in their spec as they get kitted out with parts from previous, and/or newer models.
That's a strange one though. You might have a case there if you're getting a lesser spec.0
