Get it out of there and re-greased before it seizes completely.
FWIW, my take on the whole carbon post thing is that you need to keep up on the re-greasing.0 -
Nearly seized up ? Surely its either seized or its not ?
I take my post out to fly with the bike once a year and that stops it seizing up on me.
If you have problems - mark the saddle height with insulation tape on the seatpost for easy reference, and make sure to take the post out every month or so ? You can use special carbon compound on it too - that may help but I need to use hairspray on mine to get it to stick.
I'd not buy a new seatpost.0 -
Alloy posts stick too.
Just something to think about..........None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -
I have just brought some of this not tried it yet:

Not too expensive.0 -
does this grease only work with carbon stem and carbon frame or does it work also with carbon seatpost and aluminium frame0

I think i would grease just about any combo of materials. Even same materials.0 -
My seatpost slips in a carbon frame unless I use the hairspray on it.0

I have since tried this:

And after a quick 10 mile run it seams to have stopped my creaks & noises so worth a try if you are having problems. My seat post carbon and frame is ali. I will let you know if all is well after a 70 mile run at the weekend.0 -
just managed to get my carbon seat post out, and ill never fit one again this is the 2nd time its happened and last time i ended sawing on the inside of the seat tube with hacksaw blade, iive only ever had this trouble with carbon, it says not to grease carbon, everything what touches carbon seems to destroy it. back to alloy.0

I've swapped mine mainly because the carbon wrapped one was in line and the alu one is a tradition micro-adjust with 2" setback. I greased it before insertion even though its an alu frame and alu post.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
