Boardman or....????

Firstly Hi everybody. New to this forum & biking for that matter. I'm after a decent bike so I can try and get my fitness levels back up to scratch...I was in Halfords and spotted the Boardman Pro HT...It really caught my eye...After looking at the spec it seems VERY good value considering I can't find a bike with equivalent components below about £1500. My max budget is £1000 and want a HT for both road and light XC...are there any bikes with as good components as the Boardman i.e X0 etc...at the same price or is the Boardman just so good value? I know the boardman has got good reviews and I liked the finish of the frame i.e no visible welds. If anybody knows of any other bikes for my criteria please tell

The Boardmans are nice bikes and if you get bored of it eventually, you've got some great parts to move over to a new frame... 0
