If that's even the right term
Basically I'm looking for the little metal plates that go into the sole of the shoe (sidi in this case) and attach to the cleat...

the little gold dohickys on the right
What's their official name? and where sell em? I'm having trouble finding anything of use... the above would do but I don't want to pay £10 for something which should be no more than a couple of quid.
any help appreciated

I think all the shimano ones fit 2 bolt shoes. I stripped the thread in one of my spec shoes and replaced it fine with one from a pack of cleats.
I think they're all a similar size and shape, pull it out and have a look (ooh er!)0 -

Chuffing Nora, they've gone up in price! prompted by this thread, I just had a quick look at the price of some replacement cleats (just basic SPD clone) and they've doubled in price in the last couple of years1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)

For standard SPD cleats it's almost worth buying a set of M520 pedals...£18 a pair, including cleats.0
