I spent most of the 90s riding those roads - they are all pretty good. No monster climbs, but a few of them might start to hurt a bit after 70/80 miles....
  • Done it 2 or 3 times. Nice route, lots of small roads. Quite a bit of gravel at times so there will be punctures. No massive climbs but some shorter sharper ones that can catch people out. I really like it.

Not done it before but will be this year. Have done a number of Southern Sportive events and they are always well organised.

Seems a hot topic at the moment....the pre-ride information pack sent out by email is comprehensive and details what to expect in the way facilities, stops, food, drinks. From this it is easy to decide what you need to take with you to stay nourished and watered.

Did this last year. Major gripes are 38 miles to first feed, some of the worst cart tracks in England- though they did have warnings about the lousy road surfaces and what I thought to be a lazy, unimaginative route overall. The last feed stop was at 10 miles to go and everything just seemed so draggy to the finish. I will be doing it again this year but only because I had to transfer from the P.Risborough sportive due to injury at the time.
