....literally.

I'd just like to know at what point he realised it was a bad idea to cut across the mud... because surely any sane person would make that decision before the mud reached their waist.

I wonder if the bike's still there...

"A spokesman for Solent Coastguard said the man was not hurt in the incident."

Now you can interpret this several ways. I like to think it means that the man was hurt in another incident. For example, by his wife, when he got home.

He was hurt by the coastguard battering him with a d lock for being so stupid

I'd like to believe that he took a blow to the wallet paying for the helicopter ride.

But I know it ain't true.

I've sailed round there a bit. It's well known that it's bloody silly to go for a stroll across the mud banks. The bloke must have been an utter tool.
Sometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.

Now, if he'd been on a carbon CX bike I reckon he'd have made it

  • That would have been one for the Darwin awards if he had died.

In thousands of years time the bike will be recovered, like a perfectly preserved mammoth.

Or, perhaps, a Velociraptor. Actually, nah, that would be a road bike ;)
