At this price point the Halfords bike are going to be the best spec, the Fury and Boardman being quite different in feel, try them both and see which feels right and fits best.

The Cube Acid is not in the same league as the others.

As above, the Fury and Boardman are the best specced, the former a little tougher in nature.

Not really. Maybe Decathlon Rockrider 8.1, or a reduced GT Agressor XC1
  • i am gonna be biased an say the fury, its an excellent bike for the money, the boardman is another excellent bike but with a more racey feel to it

The Fury really is a hell of a lot of bike for the money and is very good looking in the flesh, looks and feels solid, I like it a lot, infact thinking of one on my cycle2work scheme to go with the full sus, just well, just because

Hmmmm good stuff... i do like the GT Agressor XC1 this bike might be worth it if i get the cycle to work package. In terms of spec tho would the carrera still beat the XC1?

The Gt probably shades it - both are still excellent, just that the Fury is normally cheaper.

I have now pinpointed the 2 bikes that im looking into...
I will stretch for the GT Agressor XCR if it is worth it... or else the Carrera Fury???
Is it worth paying the little extra for the XCR?
