So here are a few of the pics I got over the weekend. I didn't manage to get very many on account of having too much riding to do.

    Nice photos :)

Could anyone enjoy the dual slalom then? looks like a nice track.

What bikes did you test CWNT? anything stick out as a fav?

damn, it felt a lot a faster than that when you were doing it, shame they only let you have such a small run up! Also because of the height of the jump and the height of the bag, it was almost like a step up, so difficult get much air time...having said that a lot of guys were landing back flips.

List of Bikes Demo'd by CWNT (I went for Full-sus because if anything replaces the 456 frame, it'll be a bouncy bike):

Cube AMS 125 - Odd angles, seemed like I was leaning too far back.
Cube Stereo HPC - Nice, really liked it. Wish they did a Frame only version.
Cube Fritzz - Didn't climb as well as I'd have liked, felt a bit heavy.
Ibis Mojo SL - Favourite of the weekend, even built up with fairly basic kit it suited me MUCH better than the rest. I can see one of these in my future with Revs and the rest of the kit off the 456.
Sunn Kern LT - Too heavy, more on the Freeride side of AM I think. Plus, I think the demo model they gave me was maybe a size too small
Rose Bikes Uncle Jimbo - Hated it, BB height was WAY too low for a bouncy bike. Pedals would strike if you tried hammering through corners.
Rose Bikes Beefcake - Too burly for me, handled REALLY well in the air though.
Kona cadabara (with brakes on wrong way round) - Awful, that is all.
    Whyte 120 - Meh!
Meta 55 - It was ok I guess. Didn't exactly rock my world though.
Genius 20 - You want HOW MUCH!??!?! For THAT???? AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

(There were a few others too, but they clearly didn't make an impression either way as I cant remember what they were.)

    and

Eddy Merckx EMX-1 Road bike - Ok, I REALLY enjoyed riding this. Not enough to actually go buy a road bike, but it was SO different from riding a MTB it was a nice change. Beware the road bike brakes though! Nearly planted myself into a tree

So has anyone tried a Genius and actually liked it? Your opinion doesn't count if you actually own a Genius, because as we saw in the FS/HT thread, people who buy expensive FSes will say anything to justify the bike so they can trick themselves into thinking they haven't wasted their money

My list of bikes were as follows

Rose Uncle Jimbo - stable, great in the air and handled well,
Rose Jabba wood - too upright and narrow, couldn't get comfortable on it and found it all too twitchy
Sunn Kert LT - one of the stars of the weekend for me, chunky but confidence inspiring
Ibis mojo - pinched Lawmans test rig, prob too small for me to comment fairly, needed wider bars though
Kona Cadabra - despite the brake disaster, i really liked the magic link platform, 2nd fave bike of the week, really managed to throw it about, needed a wider bar though
Kona Coilair Deluxe - again pinched MacAndCheese's and this was another superstar for me, really liked the hammerschmitt crank and climbed surprisingly well,
BMC Speedfox sf01 - handled great but was too low, had a tendency to catch pedals and toes
Sunn Radical - Small framed, and not enough terrain to test it, but man did i have fun in a downwards direction on this
Commencal meta 55 - The absoulute star for me, it felt great both up and down the hills and i really did not want to give it back
Scott Genius 20 - garbage, too light, too twitchy, a pain to set up, epic fail, major disappointment

Winner for me was clearly the meta, i dunno whether its because I already ride a rocker link bike but it just felt right, the kern lt was great first time, but had developed a slight knocking from the fork the second time around which knocked it down the pecking order

    my list -

commencal meta 55 - tbh i was disappointed, good downhill, but far too heavy
sunn kern - great bike, just unsure of the styling
sunn kern lt - as above, only heavier
ibis mojo - amazing bike, but was outclassed in every way by the whyte 146
whyte t120 - great bike, if i wanted a 120mm bike, id buy this, fantastic, rode two models one with new xtr and one with new x7, much prefered the sram, the xtr felt crap.
whyte 146 - super slack, superlight, amazing suspension, and if it costs what the reps claim it will, will be the biggest bargain ever (will be buying one when they are released)
ibis tranny - great handling but singlespeed ruined it for me
marin mount vision - good but prefered the whyte equivilant
eddy merrcx road bike - scared me sh!tless!!!!!!! having not really ridden a roadbike in anger before taking it round brands was a rather scary experience  good fun though

also tried a few of the roses the others had and thought the same tbh, disappointing. the 146 was astonishing though, somebody at whyte has designed my perfect bike, so thanks lads :D

Some more highlights from the weekend:

    http://www.vimeo.com/13268890

Curses to you Cat! Vid ended at 2:30 but kept playing for another minute, so there was me sitting there patiently waiting for the bonus footage at the end (maybe a nork shot).

What did I get? Nothing. That's a minute of my life I'll never get back.

Right, I went through my pictures...

Duel Slalom with Peat racing Atherton:
    IMG_2610small.jpg

    More Duel Slalom:
    IMG_2449small.jpg

Some DJ Action - Yehaa only the pros could go on the Big dirt Jumps, but you could even the slalom.
    IMG_2548small.jpg
    IMG_2532small.jpg

Possibly my favourite bike currently available:
    IMG_2467small.jpg

    Bikes I demoed:
    kona.jpg
Kona Coilair - very good indeed, really enjoyed this bike, I was surprised as Kona's seem to have gotten some bad reviews recently, but I felt instantly at home and confident on this, and really wanted to keep riding it. Enjoyed the Hammerschmit and the SLX brakes were superb.

    mojo.jpg
Ibis Mojo SL - Was really looking forward to this, but if I'm honest it left me a little underwhelmed. It's a very good bike, very light and quick, but it didn't leave me wanting more.

    tranny.jpg
Ibis Tranny - I want one, I really want one, looks so good in the flesh, light fast and nimble, perfect frame upgrade for my IFT.

    norco.jpg
Norco Something or other, whatever it was it was forgettable, not a great bike at all, heavy and didn't have the feeling of confidence I want from a big hitting bike.

    IMG_0034.jpg
Rose Thrill Hill - Very light and very racey, probably a little too racey for me. Despite the guy on the stand setting the sag, it was very firm, and the forks didn't have much small-bump sensitivity so the bike was quite harsh to ride. I could see this beiong a cracking bike though if set up correctly for me.

Yeh, he gave it back and went home with a Kona with blue cables and a broken, taped up brake instead.

Apparently, he found it. Someone had just abandoned it in a field.

Thats good news too, he was propper mad about it, I thought it would either be someone targetting the site or someone who had just gone off for a joyride. Was it that pilgrim fella? He looked proper dodgy

could have done, but a) i cant drive and b) by the time we got back his car sounded like a vauxhall nova with a very badly fitted halfords exhaust, so i doubt it could the extra weight, even if the whyte is very light. interestingly there appears to be absolutely no info on it any mtb website ......... some barsteward must have stole it from the journos

good to hear the boyo got his bike after all, and yes MR pilgrim looked very dodgy sat in the middle of the road with some random bird ......
