Matthew Loyd says they are:
Matthew Lloyd from Davitamon-Lotto was in Armstrong's group and witnessed that last crash. "Unfortunately, Lance crashed, there were again lots of crashes today," he said post-race. "Euskaltel really needs to learn how to ride bikes. It's just shocking. I don't know whether that's controversial or not, but I don't care. They've probably caused every crash in this race... It's really unfortunate for Lance because he wanted to finish this Tour de France in style, and now..."

Was just watching that on YouTube. On the live coverage earlier it seemed as though someone had hit a spectator. Watching the replay, the Euskatel rider either drops his musette or doesn't grab it and it goes under his wheel, causing a halt and the other riders ploughed into the back.

So he's got a point there!

Matt Lloyd said much the same a couple of days ago
The only issue with us in terms of accidents in the first week is the number of Euskaltel-Euskadi riders crashing everywhere. They just fall off. There's no reason why. You'll just be riding along and there they'll be like a bleeding carrot in the middle of the road lying in pain.

    Bleeding Carrot - that's classic

According to Armstrong, his crash was his own fault.

"I clipped a pedal [in the roundabout -ed.] and next thing I knew I was rolling on the ground at 65 kilometres per hour," Armstrong explained

But surely you wouldn't believe anything LA says, would you?

    Different crash.
He crashed again at the feed station after he'd been dropped on the climb. A Euski rider got tangled up in his musette and went down, taking a couple of others with him. Lance was in the middle and didn't so much crash as got tangled up in their bikes and came to a stop, then had to wait until his bike was untangled. Lost him some more time but he had given up by then anyway. He looked almost glad of the rest.

Their handling does seem poor on the whole but as they spend the whole of the flat stages sat on the back at least they don't bring too many down with them. I thought every crash was Cav's fault though
