Can`t decide, HELP!!!

Looking to buy my first MTB and have decided to go hardtail but can`t decide what one, I have a cube streamer for the road but want something for the winter. The MTB will be used for roads and some trail work but no major downhills. I have around £800 to spend but that is not set in stone for the right bike. My local shops stock marin, cannondale, giant, ktm, narco, cube, specilized, genesis, merida, trek, lapierre an beone. Can someone please tell me the best from the above list, thanks.

Without mentioning any models, it is difficult to say.

What models of BeOne and Genesis do they stock, these can offer good value at this price point.

Yes, the Rockhopper is a good bike. I would try one out for size.

Like I keep posting...the KHS Alite 3000...ok they sell direct but the spec is amazing for less than £700....my mate bought one and the service was excellent...they help with the sizing and they did say to him if it did not feel right he could return it...

I've been looking for about a month.

So far:

2010 Giant XTC frame, £300.

2010 Scott Scale, as above.

2010 Azonic AZ-7 £339.

Poss going for the Azonic tomorrow afternoon...

Good point SS...they are getting short on some sizes though.....so can be a bit hit and miss !
