Hi I need to buy a new Crank. Thinking slx. Trouble is I'm useless with tools. Evans is my lbs. If I was to buy it from them would they fit it for me. I know I can phone them in the morning and find this out but would appreciate it if someone could tell me on here.

Yes, they have workshops and tools, so would fit it. Maybe not on the spot though, probably have to book it in.

They should, your BB shell may need facing but they should also do this for free if you buy it from them

Thanks guys I'll call them in the morning and get it done. Need to find somewhere to do a bike maintainace course near reading as I would prefer to be able to do these sorts of jobs myself.

Plenty of stuff online, and help here. Not rocket science - you can do most things yourself with a few basic tools.
    Much more satisfying.

I'd not touched bikes for 24 years and have now built 4 from a bare frame up, you just try it and see what happens (in a sort of logical sort of way!)
