Can i put cyclocross wheels on my road bike and go offroad? i wont need the different brakes as its not muddy and its only for pleasure, i dont need the other brake leavers, ive been on a cyclocross before and didnt use them, i also know there is less ground clearance etc.

Will the frame/ forks hold up?

Cheers Arran

CX tyres are higher profile and you may not have the clearance...

    How offroad is offroad ?

Paths and gentle stuff - your normal wheels should be fine. Gnarly rocks or tree roots - you'd need to go for bigger volume tyres, and as softlad says - you may not have the clearances for those - depending on your frame.

I can't say I really hear of frames/forks breaking these days, no matter the level of use.
